John Long

John, born in Lancaster, is also a McCaskey High School Alumnus. Later he received a B.S. degree from Millersville State Teachers College with a major in Industrial Arts Education. In 1962, John was presented a Masters in Education diploma as a member of the first graduating advanced degree class of Millersville University, PA. Most of John's 34 years of teaching were at his old high school where he instructed many Industrial Arts courses including: Graphic Arts and Photography. Married to Carol Ressler Long, they have two children and three grandchildren.

John's interest in antiques and craftsmanship was cultivated by his college studies. He received his first Lancaster brewery bottles when a colleague gave him several old bottles as a "thank you" for his help in assisting his friend with the disposal of some inherited possessions.

Sam Nolt

Sam, a Lancaster Pennsylvania native, was graduated by Lancaster McCaskey High School and then Franklin and Marshall College. As a business and history major he completed college in 1960. After serving two years in the US Army, he returned to Lancaster as a salesman for J. L. Clark Manufacturing Company (now Clarcor). After many years, Sam was promoted to the National Sales Manager position. He retired in the year 2001. He married Joyce Weaver Nolt, a high school sweetheart, and they have two children. Presently they have three grandchildren.

Sam began his bottle collecting with his first Lancaster bottle purchase in the late 1960's. He paid $0.50 for this find at a Cherry Hill, New Jersey mall, during a sales trip lunch hour. He continues to improve his accumulation of Lancaster Pennsylvania items even today after some forty years with the collecting fever.

Curt Tomlinson

Curt is a Lancaster native having been graduated, in 1978, by J. P. McCaskey High School. Coincidently, one of his fellow authors, John Long was Curt’s teacher, and was instrumental in mentoring Curt towards pursuing a college education. Curt was graduated by Millersville University, in 1982, with a B.S. degree in Industrial Arts.

Curt worked many years in the computer field, in 1994 Curt quit his job to open his own business. With two children and one on the way Curt started GNet an internet development firm in his basement. Curt sold GNet in 1999 and finally went into semi-retirement in 2001. In 2003, Curt started his next business venture Seisan Consulting, an LBS mapping development firm which he still runs today.

Curt has been married to his wife Ronda Lyter Tomlinson for 23 years. They have three children; Nathan, Megan and Lauren. Curt enjoys hunting, fishing and privy digging. In any given week, one can find Curt dressed in a suit or knee-deep in mud in a local privy pit.
